Sanz 1876: The Sanzer Rav passed away.
Rabbi Chaim Halberstam of Sanz, known for his works Divrei Chaim, was one of the most prominent Torah authorities of his time.
Years after his death, the Brisker Rav remarked during a visit to Krynica, ‘The spirit of the Sanzer Rav is very much alive; wherever I travel, I hear Chassidim referring to the ‘Hayliger Roov Zichroyne LiVrooche’!
