Lublin, 1930: The inauguration and opening ceremony of Yeshivas Chachmei Lublin
Its founder and leader, Rabbi Meyer Schipra, writes:
The entire Orthodox Jewish community in Poland and throughout the world, together with its great sages and righteous leaders, prepares itself for the momentous historic day of the 28th of Sivan, [5]690.
On this day, in the historic city of Lublin, the solemn inauguration of the world-renowned yeshiva, ‘Yeshivas Chachmei Lublin’, will take place.
This yeshiva will embody and personify the Torah spirit of that bygone era. It will stand as a great center of Torah learning around which many highly gifted souls shall gather—souls destined to become a source of pride and honor for Torah Judaism.
