Frankfurt, 1661: The young Gutlin zu Hessen was released from the autopsy.

Earlier on Tuesday, Gutlin, the daughter of R’ Menkin zu Hessen, had gone missing. It was on Shabbos morning that her body was discovered floating in the mikvah. The Jewish community approached the Mayor for guidance on how to address this troubling incident. They summoned a doctor and several officials to the mikvah, where they removed the body and conducted an autopsy to determine if foul play was involved. Initially, they examined her intestines for poison, which yielded negative results. Subsequently, they inspected her neck, which was found to be fractured. The Mayor granted permission for her burial on Sunday, with the interment scheduled for early Monday morning.
