Breslau, 1813: Rabbi Avraham Tiktin fled his hometown.

Due to the Napoleonic war, his home town Groß Glogau [Głogów, Silesia] (not to be confused with Głogów Małopolski, in the Lwów district)], was besieged, and the community fled to Bresslau [Wrocław], where they sat and waited for more peaceful times. Eventually, he took over the rabbinic post in Breslau
