Maharal

Poznan, 1588: Rabbi Elazer Meize of Poznan, signed his letter in support of the Maharal’s family.

The Maharal of Prague and his family have suffered some verbal abuse in their times, regarding the purity of the lineage of their family.  There is a famous letter from the Maharshal, where he claims to have a maternal connection with the family, in which he praises this family and their origin. The Maharal himself published a series of letters he received regarding this sensitive issue in his sefer, Nesivos Olam.
