Poznań, 1801: Rabbi Shmuel Falkenfeld, was accepted as rav.

Rabbi Shmuel Falkenfeld, better known as the Beis Shmuel Acharon, was the younger brother of Rabbi Yosef HaTzadik, the famous son-in-law of the Noda beYehuda. R’ Yosef was rav in Poznań. Around 6 months after R’ Yosef’s passing, the Poznań community decided to give over the mantle of leadership to his younger brother, the Beis Shmuel Acharon.
