Vienna 1878: The congregants of the Schiffschul celebrated a Siyum Mishnayos.

Over 150 attendees, including Jewish dignitaries, and guests of honor, took part in this special celebration, which was led by the rav of the shul, Rabbi Zalman Spitzer.

R’ Zalman held the central speech, which focused on the theme of peace.

Mishnayos weren’t the only thing they learned in the Etz Chayim shul, better known as the Schiffschul. R’ Zalman delivered daily and weekly shiurim, in Chaye Adam, Chumash with Rashi and Ramban. On Motzaei Shabbos, Sunday and Wednesday, there were shiurim in Gemara Rashi and Tosafos, until midnight. This is excluding the monthly drashos R’ Zalman would deliver every Shabbos Mevarchim.
