Hamburg, 1689: Rabbi Aron Darshan responds to Rabbi Getz

The rav of Cracow, R’ Aron Darshan Teomim [before Cracow, he was rav in Worms], writes the following interesting apology to Rabbi Getz of Hildesheim: “Passing by Hamburg. Last Shabbos I gave a wonderful Drasha. I’m staying here until Sunday…. My wife and children are In Halberstadt, although it’s unknown to me if they will notify me about them traveling to Berlin, if so, I’ll have to travel there myself too, therefore I could not have written to you a response you would be able to rely on.”
