Ruins of Samaria
Today was a Yom Tov, celebrating the downfall of the city walls of ShomronβSamaria.
This Yom Tov dates back to the times of the Babylonian exile when Cyrus the king of Persia allowed the Jew to return to their homeland.
The 70 years of exile ended a few years later when King Darius the Persian, allowed the reconstruction of the Beis HaMikdash.
Contrary to popular belief, Jerusalem wasn’t always the capital of Israel. Jerusalem was the capital of Yehuda-Judea, whilst Samaria was actually the capital of Israel.
