Altona, 1803: Rabbi Rafael Kohen Hamburger passed away.
One of his students was Rabbi Chaim of Volozhin.
In regard to what we mentioned on Wednesday, it is interesting to note that his opponent Rβ Saul Berlinerβs yahrzeit, is 3 days before him. Although he passed away several years before, in 1794.
