Lemberg, 1637: Golden Rose was brought to her final resting place in the Chelkas HaRabbanim.
The Golden Rose was known in Eastern-Polish-Yiddish as “Di Gildne Royze”.
Her gravesite in Lemberg (Lviv, Ukraine) was always crowded with wailing women who were coming to pray in her Z’chus.
WWII, not only erased a third of our nation; it sadly erased many known historical events from our nation’s memory. Whilst the Golden Rose was a known name not so long ago, today it’s another chapter in the dust collecting history books – not anymore.
Read about her fascinating life, in our article “The Golden Rose”, Kankan issue 6.
