Today, 149 years ago, in the year 1872, Rabbi David Zvi Hoffman got married.

One may wonder, ‘A wedding in the Aseres Yeme Teshuva?’ The Mateh Ephraim, writes not to do so. But, R’ David Tzvi Hoffman, from the leading Ashkenazic Orthodox figures in the 19th century, found nothing wrong with it. His father-in-law, Rabbi Yonah Rosenbaum, discussed it with some leading authorities, and they came to the conclusion that lechatchila it’s allowed, and so he did.
