Nikolsburg, 1757: Rabbi Moshe Lwow passed away.

R’ Moshe was the “Landsrabbiner” of Moravia  [today: Mikulov, Czech Republic]. Usually, the local rav of Nikolsburg was also the Landsrabbiner, as was the case with his predecessor, Rabbi Berish Eskeles. After R’ Berish’s passing, the two offices were split. R’ Moshe was appointed as Landsrabbiner, and Rabbi Gershon Politz was appointed as the local rav of Nikolsburg. The seat of the Landsrabbiner was in Nikolsburg, which was the capital of Moravia.
