Ohel of Rabbi Elimelech – Jewish cemetery in Lizensk, Subcarpathian Voivodship, Poland.

Lizhensk, 1787: The Tzaddik Rabbi Meilech passed away

R’ Meilech of Lizhensk [Lezajsk, Poland] is accredited with spreading the chassidic movement through Lesser Poland, later known as Western Galicia. This is all thanks to his younger brother Rabbi Zusha. R’ Zusha was a disciple of the great Maggid of Mezeritch [Mezhyrichi, Ukraine]. R’ Zusha felt that his brother, R’ Meilech should join him as a disciple of the Maggid. He traveled to Brody, where R’ Meilech then resided, and convinced him to join him. They made their way to Rovne [Rivne, Ukraine] to meet the great Maggid of Mezeritch. Rovne is where the Maggid actually resided.
