Głogów, 1780: The rav, Rabbi Avraham Tiktin, passed away.
R’ Avraham authored the sefer Pesach HaBayis, and was an active rav of the communities of Swarzędz [then: Schwersenz, Prussia; today: Poland]; Lentschütz [Łęczyca, Poland] and at last in Głogów [Groß-Glogau, Lower Silesian, Poland]. He was invited to take up the rabbinical position in Breslau [then: Silesia, Prussia; today: Wrocław, Poland] but he didn’t make it there.
