Lemberg, 1667: The Turei Zahav passed away.

Rabbi David HaLevi, the author of the commentary Turei Zahav, was born in the year 1586. This fact we know from a conversation his son, Rabbi Yeshayah of Komarno, had, with the apostate Shabsai Zvi. R’ Yeshayah was sent to check out Shabsai Zvi’s character and intentions by his father R’ David HaLevi.  He visited Shabsai Zvi on 24 Tamuz 1666 – a day which Shabsai Zvi has announced as Shabbas HaGadol! At his visit, Shabsai Zvi asked R’ Yeshayah about his father, to which he responded: “My father  is very old, being 80 years of age, and he’s very weak in his hands and feet.”
