Prague, 1716: Rabbi Avraham Posselberg passed away,
R’ Avraham Posselberg, was a Resh Mesivta [a.k.a. Rosh Yeshiva] and a Dayan in Prague. He was the son of Hakadosh R’ Zalman Postelberger hy”d.
About R’ Zalman Postelberger we read, “Zalman of Postelberg was wounded in the Massacre which took place in Česká Lípa (Böhmisch-Leipa) on November 28 1744 (4th Tevet 5505), and died 5 days later. Details about the massacre can be found in the article by Josef Bergl “Der Judenmord in Böhmisch-Leipa am 9. Dezember 1744.”
