Mijas, Spain

Seville, This month, 1077: Rabbi Yosef ibn Migas was born.

R’ Yosef was born to his father Rabbi Meyer HaLevi. He is known as ‘Ri Migash’. According to the Beit Hatfutsot website, Migas in Arabic is a “dish made of bread-crumbs” ….In some cases, Migas indicates origin from a locality called Mijas, in the province of Malaga, Spain.
