Königsberg

Königsberg, 1868: The Pischei Teshuva passed away.

R’ Avraham Hersh Eisenstadt, was the rav of Utena, Lithuania. He is the author of the commentary Pischei Teshuva, which is found on the pages of the Shulchan Aruch.

At the beginning of summer 1868, he came to see some doctors in Königsberg Prussia [today: Kaliningrad, Russia] and hoped to be back home for Rosh Hashana, but sadly enough, he passed away in Königsberg, at the age of 56.
