Troyes 1040: Rashi was, “supposedly”, born
This date, which is given as February 22, 1040, is mentioned in many recent printed books, including Wikipedia, although I haven’t yet found the source for this claim.
We do not know of any other date, which should contradict this one, it would still be beneficial, to have the source, and evaluate it, for its reliability.
