The 1755 Lisbon Earthquake and How it Almost Totally Destroyed Lisbon

Israel, 1759: An earthquake shook the land of Israel.

The earthquake was felt in Jerusalem, 3 hours before dusk, fortunately, no one was hurt.

This was not the case in Tzfas, where 162 people were killed by the earthquake; amongst them the chassid Mahar”i Faragi and his son.

Side note: I’m not sure who this Mahar”i Faragi is.
