Prague, 1583: Rabbi Yitzchak Melling passed away.

Prague was one of the most famous Jewish communities in Europe.  As famous as Prague was,  so are unknown a great selection of its Rabbanim.  One of them was R’ Yitzchak Melling.

R’ Yitzchak is mentioned by his contemporary, Rabbi David Ganz, as being Rav of the community for thirty years and one of the Roshei Yeshiva of the community. He was succeeded by Rabbi Yitzchak Chayos, the brother-in-law of the Maharal of Prague.

R’ Yitzchak Melling was survived by his son Rabbi Chaim, Dayan, and Rosh Yeshiva of Prague.
