Today, some 369 years ago, in the year 1651, Rabbi Avraham Hacohen Rappaport of Lemberg [Lviv, Ukraine] passed away.
R’ Avraham was known in his time as R’ Avrom Schrenzeles. This strange name was actually his father in law’s surname, R’ Mordechai Schrenzels, the president of the Jewish community in Lemberg. His sister Breindel, was the wife of the famous R’ Isaac R’ Yeckels from Krakow.
He was the author of the sefer Eisan HaEzrachi.
