Egypt, 1237: Rabbi Avraham the son of the Rambam passed away.

In a letter sent to him, he was addressed as follows: “Our teacher and rabbi, our master, our governor, the crown of our heads, the leader of our generation, our magnificence and our glory… the flag of the Rabbis, the most unique of the generation.”

His magnum opus is his monumental work, Kitāb Kifāyah al-`Ābidīn, which translates as “A Comprehensive Guide for the Servants of G-d”, or better known as Hamsapik LeOvdei Hashem.
