Mestre, 1470: The sefer ‘Leket Yosher’ on Orach Chayim, was finalized.
One of the most fascinating sefarim, which is, as interesting from a historic point of view, as it is from a halachic one, is the sefer Leket Yosher. It was authored by Rabbi Yosef ben Moshe of Mestre, a disciple of the Terumas HaDeshen.
Mestre, is a city in the Municipality of Venice, in those days it was part of the Republic of Venice.
The sefer is a must, for anyone who has a liking for halacha and history. It has recently been reprinted by Machon Yerushalayim.
