Today, 215 years ago, in the year 1804, Rabbi Zundel Ramras of Brody passed away.
Rabbi Yehuda Zundel Ramras, was the Maggid of Brody. His father was known as R’ Moshe R’ Selig’s [R’ Selig was R’ Moshe’s father-in-law], hence his interesting surname, Ramras, which is the acronym of his father’s nickname.
Family Ramras traced their roots back to Rabbi Todros Abulafya, a nephew of the Remah [Rabbi Meir HaLevi].
R’ Zundel was the father of Rivkah Hena, the mother of the Sar Shalom of Belz, and also the father of Rabbi Yissachar Ber of Sokal, the father-in-law of the Sar Shalom of Belz, being the father of his Rebitzin Malkah.
