Rabbi Elazar from Brody – mistakenly known as R’ Elazar Rokach – was born in Cracow (therefore also known as R’ Elazar from Cracow). He was rav in Brody and of the Ashkenazic community in Amsterdam. From Amsterdam he moved to Tz’fas, where he passed away, being only 57 years of age.
