Today, 279 years ago, in the year 1741, the Maaseh Rokeach passed away in Tz’fas.
Rabbi Elazar from Brody – mistakenly known as R’ Elazar Rokach – was born in Cracow. He was rav in Brody and of the Ashkenazic community in Amsterdam. From Amsterdam he moved to Tz’fas, where he passed away, being only 57 years of age.
