In the 1st year of Koresh, Zerubavel led the first aliyah, from exile to Eretz Yisrael, where he built the mizbeach.- In the 2nd year of Daryavesh, Ezra HaSofer led the second aliyah from exile to Eretz Yisrael, where he built the 2nd Beis Hamikdash.
- In the 20th year of Artachshasta, Nechemia HaTirshasa led the third aliyah from exile to Eretz Yisrael, where he built the walls of Jerusalem.
